IBO Player Setup Guide
Configured through a web portal rather than on the device itself.
Setting up IBO Player
- 1
Install and note the device key
Install IBO Player from your TV app store and open it. The app displays a MAC address and a device key on screen. Write both down — you need them for the next step.
- 2
Register on the IBO website
On a phone or computer, go to the IBO Player activation site and enter the MAC address and device key shown on your TV.
- 3
Add your playlist in the portal
Add a playlist entry with your M3U URL or Xtream Codes details. This is done on the website, not on the television — a distinction that catches most first-time users out.
- 4
Reload on the TV
Close IBO Player completely and reopen it. Changes made in the web portal only appear after the app restarts on the device.
Changes do not appear until the app is fully restarted
Editing a playlist in the IBO portal has no effect on a TV that is still running the app. Exit fully — not just back to the home screen — and reopen. Most "IBO is not working" reports are this.
Strengths
- Runs natively on Samsung and LG Smart TVs with no extra hardware
- Simple interface suited to less technical users
- Configuration is done on a phone keyboard rather than a TV remote
Limitations
- Paid activation per device
- Changes require a portal visit plus an app restart
- Fewer guide-customisation options than TiviMate
